We rented a Cliff sea View room. Worth it. Excellent service. Private beach, feels just like in paradise. Great snorkeling instructors. Excellent service. Best hotel in Pulau Redang. Highly recommendable.
Visited this place in February last week. Although February is not the perfect season for visiting Redang Island, considering the bad condition of sea & the occasional rains. However after a tossing scary journey, when we reached this place, it was worth the effort given. Its a slice of luxury & beauty combined with great hospitality. We were not prepared for the beauty of this outstanding place. The sheer beauty of the place was amazing. With a choice of sunset or sunrise, you are spoilt. The white soft sand & the clean calm beach will take to to a different world. The sea although is bit rough with big waves accompanied by strong currents. The villas are well maintained amidst the tropical jungles where the only sound you get is of birds around. A few naughty monkeys do hover around, so its better to keep the balcony doors closed. The island is a great spot for Scuba & snorkeling. The other options remains just enjoying the serenity of the moments. Its a place that truly brings you close to nature. The hospitality of the staff is quite appreciating. Food & drinks are at affordable prices. Even if the hotel food doesn't interest you, a walk for 5 mins will land you in a local restaurant- Aima's grilled fish. Awesome place to have some sea food.
Visited redang island in early February and it took us 1.5 hours to reach the resort by speed boat. The ride was longer than usual and quite scary to me due to choppy sea in monsoon season. Fortunately the weather was fine during our stay and we went snorkeling once, I'm surprised to see pretty coral reefs and quite many small fishes as I didn't have much expectation. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful in general, and as this is low season, the beach has only a few people so we can enjoy the peaceful white beach. Downside is there are garbages washed up on the shore and I would suggest hotel to allocate more staff to pick up trashes like straws and plastic bottles from the beach as one staff is not adequate to pick up so many garbages.
Travelled a few years ago but this is still one of the best holidays we've had. The place is so chilled, beautiful and natural. The sand on the beach is unlike anywhere else in the world - even Maldives don't come close to it! The food was average (and expensive) but that did not bother us too much. Would have stayed again easily!
This resort underwent refurbishment and its unique in nature......spent time in their restaurant facing the view of South China Seas....during any meals.....you will love it. The rooms are all at the hillside and very quiet for relaxation and sleep. The staff a mixture of foreigners & locals trying their level best to please and satisfy the guests. This resort needs a great Chef who can organized the kitchen operation, management & quality of the food. The guest rooms are tastefully decorated to suit every traveler and has a corridor to spend an evening lazing around to the sound of birds. Do not travel during November - January as it would be a monsoon season and the sea would be choppy, rough & high waves. I believed the ferry dare not operate during these periods as it is dangerous especially with the rough seas. Other months should be ok.
We booked a room for 3 nights at the Hill Deluxe. The room was large and comfortable. There was no nice view from our room. Hence we spent most of our time at the beach or horrizon lounge. The beach is fantastic with clear water and lots of fishes...if u r lucky,u will spot turtles near the rocks. Unfortunately, the resort needs to improve on their F&B at the Asean Cafe. The Beach Brasserie offers delicious Italian food. There are a few stalls outside the resort which are walking distance.
We (husband and I, 28yr old son in separate accomm) stayed for 8 days and had a magical time. We loved the soft white sand, clean beach, warm water, amazing turtles and absence of motorised sports. Our rooms were (Garden Suites and Cliff View Suites) absolutely stunning - big beds, great toiletries (same as the Spa) and rainwater shower heads. The Spa is gorgeous, - we went several times! I organised private airport pickup and boat which worked seamlessly and was worth it as we had no waiting around and I was swimming above. Turtle the afternoon we arrived. downsides? Breakfast - tasteless, and terrible when the place filled over Eid, and maintenance.Food service needs a lot of I,prove net but we understand that changes should happen next year.
This is a truly luxury hotel. The setting is incredible, with a private beach, and the service is also very good. Food from the restaurant is top notch and the dive school is an extremely professional outfit, run the way that dive schools should be run - fun but with an air that makes you confident in the people who are running it. I will certainly be coming back.
Came all the way from Singapore in an MPV driving across all the bumpy roads to this incredible place. Offers the best views to the beaches and also the "lagoon" effect. Hotel offered great service by giving us Cold towels and a welcome drink as well as offering us a buggy service as we had an elderly man with us. The beds and wifi are equally as good and also provide the best of comfort . Overall a pleasant experience
Originally we had booked the the Hill Villas but upon reaching the rooms we felt that we were a bit too far away from the amenities - we would have had had to call for a buggy every time we wanted to get anywhere. The hotel did manage to change our rooms to the Garden Villas (with an upgrade fee). Breakfast was a typical buffet spread. We ate our lunch and dinners at the various outlets. Food was decent. Staff service and attentiveness was good. Beach was good and clean. From reviews, Taaras seems like the only 'luxury option' in Redang but it is in no way a 5 star resort - for that you will have to look towards the YTL resorts.
