The mothers of the bride and the groom are quite the important figures in a wedding, aside from the couple themselves, and the bridesmaid and groomsmen. That said, it is thus important that the mother of the bride or groom is dressed in her best as well for her children’s wedding. And here are some useful guidelines in terms of fashion and preparation. What to Wear: Choosing the right attire is the first major step. All in all, the attire will certainly be influenced by the following: - Venue of the event - Bride’s and Groom’s fashion - The wedding theme - Wearer’s own preference Of course, in general, one has to consider the schedule of the event; the actual wedding in the morning, which will continue with the banquet later in evening, and thus make preparations for both occasions. In general, the mother of the bride or should be well-dressed, but not as much as they’d distract attention from the bridal couple. Thus, colors that are similar to the bride’s gown are mostly discouraged; the same goes with bright colors (yellow, bright orange, neon hues etc), which can be distracting. Overall, the mother of the groom will have fewer problems, when it comes to dressing for the occasion. But, she will have to consult the couple on their wedding theme, as well as the bride’s mother on the choices of attire, to avoid any fashion clash. Clothing and accessories aside, the moms can actually consider going for a pampering spa or beauty care treatment (pedicure, manicure, hair-styling and hair treatment spa etc), not only to refresh themselves, but also as a reward after helping their children; and to brace themselves for the big day. |
